The length of the shadow of a tower is 9 metres when the sun’s altitude is 30°. What is the height of the tower ?
Length of shadow will be the adjacent side.
Height of tower will be the opposite side.
Hence, tan 30 = height/length
$$1/\sqrt{3}$$ = $$h/9$$
=>$$h = 3\sqrt{3}$$
