A certain distance is covered at a certain speed. If half of this distance is covered in double the time, the ratio of the two speeds is
Initial speed is $$v_1$$ (say), distance is d and time taken is t. So $$v_1=\frac{d}{t} $$
Now half of distance ( $$\frac{d}{2}$$) is covered in time 2t. So $$v_2=\frac{d}{2\times2t}$$
Hence $$v_1 : v_2=\frac{d}{t}:\frac{d}{2\times2t} $$
= 4:1
