When 231 is divided by 5 the remainder is
$$2^{4}$$ will be having a remainder of 1 after dividing it by 5
hence it can be reduced to $$(2^{4})^{7} \times 8$$
hence remainder will be same as remainder for 8 dividing by 5 which is 3
