Question 101

If $$x - \frac{1}{x} = 2\sqrt{2}$$, then $$x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2}$$ is equal to:

We have :
$$x-\frac{1}{x}=2\sqrt{\ 2}$$
Taking square on both sides
we get :
$$x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}-2=8$$
we get :
$$x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}=10$$
