Question 10

 If 2x - 2(x - 2) < 5 - x > 2x + 2; then the value of x is

Solution

Expression 1 : 2x - 2(x - 2) < 5 - x

=> $$2x-2x+4$$ < $$5-x$$

=> $$x$$ < $$5-4$$

=> $$x$$ < $$1$$ -----------(i)

Expression 2 : 5 - x > 2x + 2

=> $$2x+x$$ < $$5-2$$

=> $$3x$$ < $$3$$

=> $$x$$ < $$1$$ ----------(ii)

Combining inequalities (i) and (ii), we get : $$x$$ < $$1$$

The only value that $$x$$ can take among the options = 0

=> Ans - (A)
