Question 1

If the value of $$\sqrt{5}=2.236$$ then calculate the value of $$\sqrt{405}-\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{80}-\sqrt{125}$$

Solution

Given : $$\sqrt{5}=2.236$$

To find : $$\sqrt{405}-\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{80}-\sqrt{125}$$

= $$\sqrt{81\times5}-\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{16\times5}-\sqrt{25\times5}$$

= $$9\sqrt5-\frac{4}{2}\sqrt5-5\sqrt5$$

= $$2\sqrt5=2\times2.236=4.472$$

=> Ans - (B)
