WBJEE Result 2026 OUT
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially declared the WBJEE 2026 result through a press conference, releasing the toppers list along with overall qualification statistics. Out of 94,901 candidates who appeared for the exam (from 1,20,856 registered), 92,753 have qualified, a pass percentage of 97.74 percent.. The General Merit Rank (GMR) list places Shaswat Banerjee at Rank 1, followed by Souriddha Mondal at Rank 2 and Umang Bhoot at Rank 3.
WBJEE does not declare a simple pass or fail outcome. Every qualified candidate instead receives a rank, used during counselling to allot seats. Two merit lists are prepared, the General Merit Rank (GMR) and the Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR), along with category-wise lists for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, and TFW candidates. Only the GMR is used for engineering and technology seat allotment across all rounds. Separately, 10 percent of seats in all Self-Financed Engineering and Technology colleges in West Bengal are reserved for JEE Main qualified candidates.

WBJEE 2026 Result Date
WBJEEB declared the WBJEE 2026 result today, June 18, 2026, roughly four weeks after the exam was conducted on May 24. This is a return to the usual timeline, since the 2025 result was delayed significantly until August 22, 2025, due to a court order related to OBC reservation implementation.

The rank card download link went live at 4:00 PM on June 18, 2026 at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. No result is sent by post, SMS, or email, so candidates must check the official website directly using their application number and password.
If two or more candidates obtain the same total marks, WBJEEB applies a defined tie-breaking process. Marks in Mathematics are compared first, followed by Physics and then Chemistry, and if the tie still persists, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Details Mentioned on the WBJEE 2026 Rank Card
Once downloaded, the WBJEE 2026 rank card carries several key details that candidates should verify carefully. These include the candidate's name, roll number, application number, date of birth, and category (General, OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST, PwD, or TFW) exactly as entered on the application form, along with domicile status indicating whether the candidate falls under the West Bengal or all-India quota.
On the academic side, the rank card displays subject-wise marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, the total aggregate marks, and the percentile reflecting the candidate's relative standing. Most importantly, it carries the General Merit Rank (GMR) used for engineering and technology counselling, and the Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) for pharmacy course admissions, along with the overall qualification status. Any discrepancy in these fields should be reported to WBJEEB immediately, since the rank card forms the basis for all subsequent counselling and admission steps.
WBJEE 2026 is the first cycle where the result has been declared along with the final answer key in a single announcement, rather than as two separate releases.

Expected WBJEE 2026 Cutoff for Top Engineering Colleges
With the result now declared, WBJEEB will release the actual round-wise cutoffs only after each round of counselling. Until then, the closing rank ranges below, based on 2025 trends and current admission patterns, give candidates a reliable sense of where their rank may stand.
College |
Expected Closing Rank Range (General) |
Jadavpur University, Kolkata |
200 to 17,400 |
University College of Science, Technology and Agriculture, Kolkata |
1,150 to 13,235 |
Kalyani Government Engineering College, Nadia |
1,900 to 4,901 |
Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri |
2,570 to 7,913 |
Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology, Kolkata |
4,200 to 19,650 |
Aliah University, Kolkata |
5,700 to 16,200 |
Government College of Engineering Textile Technology, Serampore |
6,652 to 27,043 |
Branch-wise demand also shapes where the cutoff finally settles. Based on 2025 Round 1 closing ranks, Computer Science at Jadavpur University closed near rank 202, with comparable CSE cutoffs at other government colleges in the 1,900 to 9,300 range.
Candidates should use Cracku's JEE Study Material alongside these trends to gauge how their preparation compares with the cutoff bands for their preferred branch.
These ranges are expected closing ranks based on prior-year trends. Actual WBJEE 2026 cutoffs will be published by WBJEEB after each round of counselling and may vary based on seat intake and choice-filling patterns.
What Happens After the WBJEE Result 2026?
With the result officially out, the focus for qualified candidates shifts entirely to counselling. WBJEEB has confirmed that WBJEE 2026 counselling will commence by June 29, 2026, with official dates to be announced shortly on wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee.
Registration: Qualified candidates must register for counselling separately using their application number, paying a registration fee of Rs. 500 online and completing their candidate profile with category and domicile details.
Choice Filling: Candidates list preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. Choices can be edited multiple times before the window closes, so use your GMR or PMR along with the cutoff data above to shortlist realistic options.
Seat Allotment: WBJEEB allots seats based on rank, category, and choices filled, typically across multiple rounds to fill all available seats.
Document Verification and Admission: Allotted candidates report for document verification within the specified window, then confirm their seat by paying the requisite fee at the allotted institute. Counselling registration is expected by June 29, with seat allotment and document verification following in early July.
With Jadavpur University CSE historically closing between ranks 200 and 17,400, candidates can use this article's cutoff data to plan their choice list realistically. JEE Main qualified candidates should also remember the separate 10 percent quota across Self-Financed Engineering and Technology colleges in the state.
Once counselling concludes, the priority shifts to document submission and fee payment at the allotted institute. Candidates preparing for future cycles can also explore Cracku's JEE Daily Target to stay on track with daily revision.
WBJEE Result 2026 OUT: Conclusion
The WBJEE Result 2026 has been officially declared, and candidates can now download their rank cards from the official WBJEEB website. This year, 92,753 candidates qualified out of 94,901 who appeared, making the pass percentage 97.74 percent. The result includes important details such as subject-wise marks, total marks, GMR, PMR, category details, and qualification status. Candidates should carefully verify all details on the rank card before moving ahead with counselling.
After the WBJEE 2026 result, the next important step is counselling and choice filling. Candidates should use their GMR or PMR, previous-year cutoff trends, preferred branches, and college options to prepare a practical choice list. Since actual WBJEE 2026 cutoffs will be released only after each counselling round, students should follow official updates regularly and keep all required documents ready for verification and admission.
