JEE Mains April 6 Exam Analysis

The Analysis of the JEE Mains April 6 Exam states that April 6 was one of the more complicated days of the 2nd session. Shift 1 was neither hard nor very difficult, but still quite long, and became one of the most challenging throughout the session. Shift 2 mod-ospel. Mathematics was the worst in both shifts; this is because it involved lengthy calculations whereas Chemistry was the best in terms of scoring because it used NCERT-based questions. Physics remained average with an equal giving of conceptual and formula-based questions.

JEE Mains April 6 Shift 1 Paper Analysis

The April 6 Shift 1 paper was rated as moderate to tough and is said to have been one of the toughest to complete in terms of time during session 2. Physics was moderate and calculative, consisting of questions on Electric Field, Ray Optics, Thermodynamics, SHM and Current Electricity. Chemistry was average and NCERT based questions covered physical, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and statement questions. The most challenging part was mathematics, which took the longest amount of time, and was mostly dominated by multi-step problems particularly of Calculus and Coordinate Geometry.

Shift 1: Section-wise Difficulty

Section

Difficulty Level

Remarks

Physics

Moderate

Moderate and calculative; questions from Electric Field, Ray Optics, Thermodynamics, SHM, Rotation, and Current Electricity

Chemistry

Moderate

NCERT-oriented with statement-based questions; coverage across Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry

Mathematics

JEE Mains April 6 Shift 2 Paper Analysis

Overall, the Shift 2 paper of April 6 was moderate in difficulty and was more balanced than Shift 1. Physics was not very difficult to moderate with most questions being numerical and equation-based and this was the most marking section. The chemistry was average and had emphasis on NCERT based and statement level questions of Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. Math was once again the most time consuming part of the paper with long computations using Calculus, Conic Sections (5 questions), Vector/3D Geometry, and Matrices taking up most of the paper.

Since the difficulty of Shift 1 was moderate to tough, and of Shift 2 was moderate, the main concern in April 6 was accuracy and time management. In fact, those students who focused on Chemistry and Physics first and only needed to cover lengthy Maths segment, did much better. Stong accuracy on good questions despite a reduced number of attempts was the clincher to a competitive percentile.
