Hi guys I have a unique problem in quants, the thing is if the quant paper is easy to moderate I score a really high percentile (above 90) but if the paper is tough or moderately tough the percentile goes down to 60s-70s. I know the score should go down in tough mocks but why does the percentile go down is drastically is what I don't understand. Does this mean I cannot solve tough questions? Any solutions for this would be highly appreciated

Hi
The reason you score less in moderate to tough tests can be you are wasting too much time in certain questions and pressure might build upon you and that affects the entire section.
In Quants the approach should always be not to miss the sitters , in every mock irrespective of very easy, moderate or tough you will have at least 30% of the questions that can be solved within a minute try to attempt those first in every mock as that build confidence and sets the tone for the remaining paper . Then identify questions from your strengths and attempt those in the next 10 15 minutes and try to attempt remaining questions in the last 10 minutes . Try to focus more on accuracy especially in moderate to tough questions because in such tests 1 -1 mark plays a very important role try not to lose any marks making silly mistakes.
