IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria 2024-26: CAT cut-off, Eligibility, Selection Weightages & Required Work experience

The selection criteria at the IIMC are based on the CAT score, Overall academic record, Work experience, Gender diversity, and the performance of the candidate in the Written Ability Test (WAT) and the Personal Interview (PI). The key changes in the latest admission criteria, like more weightage, are given to the PI-WAT in the final selection process. IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria 2024

IIMC is known for its culture, and it’s also known for the less emphasis it places on academics while shortlisting candidates for interview. So, if you get a very good CAT score, you have a good chance of getting a call from IIMC.

Stage 1: Basic CAT score requirement

From the candidates satisfying the criteria of the CAT Cutoffs, shortlisted candidates will be called for Written Ability Test(WAT) & Personal Interview (PI) based on the composite score derived using the components and the corresponding weights as specified in below table:

Stage 2: Final Selection

For the candidates appearing in Stage II, a composite score for final selection will be derived using the parameters and the corresponding weights listed in the below table. This composite score will be used for the preparation of a category-wise merit list.

Change in points for Work Experience

For work experience, a maximum of eight points will be awarded based on the length of service (in completed months). However, only managerial work experience after the completion of a bachelor’s degree will be considered. Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of curricular requirements will not be considered.
