Admission Criteria of FMS
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi is an eminent college and one of the best B-schools in the country. FMS consistently ranks within the top 6 B-schools of the country. Usually, the deadline to apply to FMS is set before the CAT exam. In this article, we will look at the admission/selection criteria of FMS – as per the latest information available on the official website.
FMS is also one of the most affordable B-schools in the country to do an MBA from. The course fee for 2 years is less than two lakhs. Usually, FMS opens the registration window in the month of October. The application fee last year was Rs. 1,000.
The first step towards getting admission into the FMS is taking the Common Admission Test (CAT) exam. Every year over two lakh candidates appear for the CAT exam. The final selection at the FMS is based on the candidate’s CAT score, Extempore, Personal Interview etc.

CAT Eligibility Criteria: Students who have a recognized bachelor degree (or professional degree like CA, CS or ICWA) and have scored an aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ST and PWD students) are eligible to write the CAT. Even students in their final year of bachelor degree are eligible to write the CAT exam.

The Selection process at FMS is broadly divided into two stages:
Stage 1 – In the first stage, candidates are shortlisted for the interviews on the basis of their CAT score.
Stage 2 – The second stage is where the college selects based on the Personal Interview (PI). A Final Score is calculated for the Final Selection. The score of each candidate is calculated (usually out of 100) based on certain parameters, and the final selection list will be made.

4. Academics (10th and 12th scores)

Admission/selection criteria at FMS
In Stage 1 of the selection process, the selection procedure of FMS is as follows.
Basic CAT score requirement to get shortlisted for the interviews: (as per latest information on the official website):

An additional 5 marks shall be added to the Weighted Score in the case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting for the interview process.
Also, In the stage 1 of the selection process, usually, there is no weightage for other factors such as Academics, Work experience etc.
