IIM Scholarships
An MBA degree is considered a gateway to a flying corporate career filled with faster promotions and loads of money. While this may or may not be the case, an MBA degree does make your life (corporate life) - a whole lot easier.
An MBA degree can allow you access to certain areas of the management beyond 'the glass ceiling.' An MBA degree allows you to move across industries and focus on an area of your choice. Naturally, an MBA degree is a much sought-after degree considering the sort of opportunities it provides.
An MBA degree from a top-5 management institute however, is a game changer. The BLACKI - IIM Bangalore, Lucknow, Ahemdabad, Calcutta, Kozhikode and Indore are considered the top 5 IIM colleges in the nation. These are the most sought-after management institutes in the country.
However, getting a degree from these institutes can be considered an obstacle for many, especially considering the financial costs involved.
An MBA, in India, is one of the more expensive degrees available. However, you need not worry as there are a lot of scholarships available for deserving candidates. The criteria that deems you deserving, however, can vary.

Scholarships offered by IIM Ahemdabad
1. IIM A Special Needs Based Scholarships
"All students admitted to the post-graduate programs (PGP & PGP-FABM), whose gross annual family income is below Rs.15,00,000 during the previous financial year are eligible to apply for this scholarship"
The amount available for scholarship is determined by a committee at IIM Ahemdabad based on the person's economic status. The economic status, is decided by various factors like immovable objects, family assets, people dependent on earning member etc.
2. SC/ST Scholarship
"All SC/ST students in the postgraduate programs are awarded Rs.150
per month for 10 months."
3. Family Income Linked Tuition Fee Waiver
This scholarship is open to students admitted to two-year postgraduate programs (PGP and PGP-FABM) who have a gross annual family income of less than Rs 15 lakh. The institution estimates the amount of financial aid required for each application based on their economic situation, which is assessed using criteria such as movable and immovable family assets etc.
Scholarships offered by IIM Bangalore
1. Financial Aid offered by IIM-B
"All PGP students with annual household income below INR 800,000 are eligible to apply for financial aid. Other students with severe financial difficulties arising from sudden unforeseen circumstances are also considered."
A committee is set up that decided the financial aid based on a two-step process which includes various parameters. During the second step or round, the students are supposed to have a direct interaction with the panel. Based on these two steps, the students are offered a scholarship - 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% or 20% financial aid.
2. Aditya Birla Scholarship
"This merit-based scholarship is given to PGP students of both the first and the second years. The students who are granted the scholarship during the first year are eligible to apply for renewal in the second year, provided they belong to the top 25% of the batch in the first year. The scholarship amount is INR 1.75 lakh per student."
3. NTPC Scholarship Scheme
"The scholarship amounts to INR 48,000 per year. Students who belong to SC/ST/PwD categories and are in their second year of management studies, having passed the first-year examination in one attempt, are eligible for the scholarship."

Scholarships offered by IIM Lucknow
1. Need-Based IIM L Scholarship
"Any student, irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion whose total annual
gross family income (self, parents, spouse) falls in the eligibility criteria can apply for the
same. The eligibility criteria and disbural criteria would be announced post the admissions."
The scholarship is available for one year and is not automatically renewed for the next year. No student at IIM Lucknow can avail two scholarships.
2. Industry Sponsored Scholarships
IIM Lucknow students get the opportunity to avail various industry-sponsored scholarships. The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow scholarship value ranges between Rs.6,000 to Rs.100,000 every year.
3. Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship
The GOI offers a 2200 per year scholarship to a maximum of 25% of the general students. It also offers a 1500 per year scholarship to SC/ST students. The students get a scholarship if and only if they meet certain stipulated criteria.
Scholarships offered by IIM Kozhikode
1. Merit Based Scholarship offered by IIM K
"IIM Kozhikode Merit Scholarship is awarded to the students of Post Graduate Programmes (PGP, PGPLSM and PGPFIN) first and second year students on the basis of their performance during one academic year, as determined by their CGPA. The number of scholarships awarded is in the ratio of one scholarship for every 20 students in the first and second year"
The amount of the scholarship has not been disclosed by the college.
2. Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) offered by IIM K
"Students whose gross annual family income for the last financial year should be less than or equal to Rs.8 lakhs." are offered this scholarship. There are other criteria also added to this which include that you must have taken a loan from a bank, the method of disbursement etc.
The amount of assistance offered was not specified by the institute.
3. Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities
"Offered by the Ministry of Empowerment of person with disabilities, Government of India to the students with disabilities of 40% and above and having a valid certificate of disability as prescribed under rules issued by the competent authority-. The maximum limit of income of parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs.8,00,000/-."
Scholarships offered by IIM Indore
1. Need Based Financial Assistance offered by IIM Indore
"All participants admitted to the Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), PGP HRM (PGPH) and Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) with annual family income below ₹ 12, 00,000 are eligible to apply for financial aid."
2. Central Sector Scholarship for SC/ST Students
This scholarship is awarded to students whose parents’ annual income in the previous financial year is less than INR 4,50,000. It covers tuition fee, other non-refundable charges, lodging & boarding charges, books & stationery charges, the cost of IT equipment for the first year by means of reimbursement.
3. Minority Welfare Scholarship (Merit-cum-Means):
This scholarship is awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India to those students whose family income does not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum.
