Question 96

The total surface area of a cuboid is 376 sq cm. Find its volume if its length and breadth are 10 cm and 8 cm respectively?

Solution

Let height of the cuboid = $$h$$ cm

Length, $$l = 10$$ cm and breadth, $$b=8$$ cm

Total surface area of cuboid = $$2(lb+bh+hl)=376$$

=> $$2[(10 \times 8)+(8 \times h)+(h \times 10)]=376$$

=> $$80+18h = \frac{376}{2} = 188$$

=> $$18h=188-80=108$$

=> $$h=\frac{108}{18}=6$$

$$\therefore$$ Volume of cuboid = $$lbh$$

= $$10 \times 8 \times 6 = 480$$ $$cm^3$$

=> Ans - (C)
