If $$\cosec\theta = \dfrac{1}{4x} + x$$ ,then what is the value of $$\cosec\theta + \cot\theta$$.

Solution

We know $$\cot\theta\ \ =\ \sqrt{\ \operatorname{cosec}^2\theta\ -1}$$
substituting
we get $$\cot\theta\ \ =\ \pm\ x-\frac{1}{4x}$$
Now $$\operatorname{cosec}\theta\ +\cot\theta\ $$ =2x or 1/2x
