Question 92

A die is thrown twice. What is the probability of getting a sum 7 from the two throws?

Solution

Number of ways in which the sum is  7 = (1,6),(2,5),(3,4),(4,3),(5,2),(6,1) => 6 ways

Total number of possibilities = 6 * 6 = 36

Probability that sum is 7 = $$\frac{6}{36}$$ = $$\frac{1}{6}$$
