The value of k for which x - 1 is a factor of $$4x^{2}+3x^{2}-4x+k$$, is

Solution

Now, x-1 is a factor of $$4x^{2}+3x^{2}-4x+k$$ which means x=1 satisfies the equation.
Hence, $$4(1)^{2}+3(1)^{2}-4(1)+k$$ = 0
which gives 3+k = 0 i.e k = -3
Therefore, the correct option is option D.
