Solution

In each term the number is the sum of the alphabet positions of the two letters, as $$B + A = 2 + 1 = 3$$ and $$D + B = 4 + 2 = 6$$. Also the first letter moves 2 steps ahead and the second letter moves 1 step ahead. So from FC9 we get H and D, and $$8 + 4 = 12$$, giving HD12.
