Question 72

The frequency of a sound wave is 25 Hz and its wavelength is 4 m. What is the time taken by the sound wave to travel a distance of 200 m ?

Solution

Since we know that :-

V=fλ

By using the above formula we will find velocity (v):-

V=25×4

V=100m/s

So as we know that:-

$$V=\frac{S}{T}$$

Therefore:-

$$T=\frac{S}{V}$$

By subsituting the values in above equation:

$$T=\frac{200}{100}$$

T=2seconds
