A man traveled at 40 kmph. Had he increased his speed by 16 kmph, he would have covered 80 km more in the same time. Find the actual distance travelled?
Let actual distance be x km
Speed = 40 kmph
Increased speed = 40 + 16 = 56 kmph
New distance = (x + 80) km
Time is same given in question,
Time = $$\frac{Dis\tan ce}{Speed}$$
According to the question,
$$\frac{x}{40}=\frac{x+80}{56}$$
$$56x=40x+3200$$
$$16x=3200$$
x = 200 km.
