Question 72

A bullet is fired vertically upwards with a velocity of 196 m/sec. What is the maximum height reached by the bullet ? (Assuming g-9.8 miser-2)

Solution

u = initial velocity = 196 m/s

v = final velocity = 0 m/s

As it reaches highest point, velocity of bullet becomes zero.

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/$$s*2$$

h = Maximum Height

$$v^2 - u^2 = 2gh$$

$$0 - 196^2 = 2 \times 9.8 \times h$$

h = 1960

So, the answer would be option a)1960 m
