Solution

$$9\times6=45$$,

means $$9\times 9 - 6\times 6 = 45$$

$$7\times4=33$$

means $$7\times 7 - 4\times 4 = 33$$

and $$6\times4=20$$,

means $$6\times 6 - 4\times 4 = 20$$

$$5 \times 3$$ = ?

means $$5\times 5 - 3\times 3 = 16$$
