The following reaction occurs in the Blast Furnace where iron ore is reduced to iron metal<br>$$\text{Fe}_2\text{O}_3(s) + 3\text{CO}(g) \rightleftharpoons 2\text{Fe}(l) + 3\text{CO}_2(g)$$<br>Using the LeChatelier's principle, predict which of the following will disturb the equilibrium?
$$K_c = \frac{[\text{CO}_2]^3}{[\text{CO}]^3}$$ involves only the gases, so changing the amount of CO or $$\text{CO}_2$$ shifts the equilibrium. Adding the solid $$\text{Fe}_2\text{O}_3$$ does not change any concentration in $$K_c$$, so it does not disturb the equilibrium. Hence options a, b and c are correct.
