Question 62

A started a business by investing Rs. 25,000/-. At the end of 4th month from the start of the business, B joined with Rs.15,000/-and at the end of 6th month from the start of the business, C joined with Rs.20,000/-. If A’s share in profit at the end of year was Rs.27,750/-, what was the total profit received ?

Solution

A invested Rs. 25,000 for 12 months, B invested Rs. 15,000 for 8 months and C invested Rs. 20,000 for 6 months.

Ratio of profit earned by A:B:C

= $$(25,000\times12):(15,000\times8):(20,000\times6)$$

= $$150:60:60=5:2:2$$

Let total profit = $$Rs.$$ $$x$$

=> A's share = $$\frac{5}{(5+2+2)}\times x=27,750$$

=> $$x=27750\times\frac{9}{5} = Rs.$$ $$49,950$$

=> Ans - (A)
