Question 59

Rs.12000 invested at 10% Simple Interest and another investment at 20% Simple Interest together give a 14% income on the total investment in one year. Find the total investment.

Solution

given ,10% of 12000 is 1200

let another money is x

20% of x = $$x\times \frac{20}{100}$$

ATQ

1200+$$x\times \frac{20}{100}$$ = $$(12000+x)\times \frac{14}{100}$$

=$$120000-(12000\times 14)=x\times 14-x\times 20$$

= $$6x=48000$$

= x=8000

Total investment = Rs 12000 + Rs8000 = Rs.20000
