Two trains of equal length are running on parallel lines in the same direction at 46 km/h and 36 km/h. The faster train passes, the slower train in 36 sec. The length of each train is :
Let length of each train = $$x$$ m
Speed of the trains = 46 km/hr and 36 km/hr
Since, the trains are moving in same direction, => Relative speed = 46 - 36 = 10 km/hr
= $$10 \times \frac{5}{18} = \frac{25}{9}$$ m/s
Time taken = 36 sec
$$\therefore \frac{x + x}{\frac{25}{9}} = 36$$
=> $$2x = 36 \times \frac{25}{9}$$
=> $$2x = 4 \times 25 = 100$$
=> $$x = \frac{100}{2} = 50$$ m
