How many liters of water should be added to a 30 liters mixture of milk and water in the ratio of 7 : 3, such that the resultant mixture has 60% milk in it?
The current quantity of milk = $$\frac{7}{7+3}\times\ 30=21\ L$$.
As the quantity of milk does not change, we need to find the total quantity of solution in which 21 L of milk forms 60%.
60% of Total = 21 L
Total = 35 L.
This means that we added 35 - 30 = 5 L of water to the solution.
