An ideal voltmeter draws no current, so the $$10\,\Omega$$ and $$40\,\Omega$$ resistors are in series across the $$100\text{ V}$$ supply with the ammeter. The current is $$\frac{100}{10 + 40} = 2\text{ A}$$.
