The repeated side may be $$23$$ cm, giving perimeter $$23 + 23 + 17 = 63$$, or it may be $$17$$ cm, giving $$17 + 17 + 23 = 57$$. Both are genuine triangles because $$17 + 17 = 34 > 23$$. So the perimeter is $$63$$ or $$57$$.
