Each question is provided with 4-alternative answers. One or more than one of them are correct answers. Indicate the correct answer by A,B,C,D.
The molality and mole fraction of the solute in an aqueous solution containing 6 gm of urea per 500 gm of water (mol. wt. of urea = 60)
Moles of urea $$= \frac{6}{60} = 0.1$$, so the molality is $$\frac{0.1}{0.5} = 0.2\text{ mol kg}^{-1}$$. Moles of water $$= \frac{500}{18} \approx 27.78$$, so the mole fraction of urea is $$\frac{0.1}{27.78 + 0.1} \approx 0.00359$$.
