For a reaction the equilibrium constant is 1, rate constant for the forward reaction is 100, then find the rate constant for the backward reaction __________
Correct Answer: 100
At equilibrium the forward and backward rates are equal, which gives $$K = \frac{k_f}{k_b}$$. So $$k_b = \frac{k_f}{K} = \frac{100}{1} = 100$$.
