A jar contains 6 red, 5 green, 4 blue and 5 yellow marbles of the same size. What is the probability that a red colour marble is chosen at random?
There are $$6 + 5 + 4 + 5 = 20$$ marbles, of which 6 are red. The probability of choosing a red marble is $$\frac{6}{20} = \frac{3}{10}$$.
