What is the time taken by a 180 m long train running at 54 km/h to cross a man standing on a platform?

Solution

Given : distance = 180 m
speed$$ = 54 km/hr = 54\times\frac{5}{18} = $$15 m/s
Solution :

Let t be the time
$$speed =\frac{distance}{time}$$

$$15 =\frac{180}{t}$$
$$t =\frac{180}{15}$$
t = 12 sec
