A chocolate brick is in the shape of a cube of side $$6\ \text{cm}$$. Kavita cut it into small cubes each of side $$2\ \text{cm}$$. The number of small chocolate cubes so obtained is
The number of small cubes equals the volume of the big cube divided by the volume of one small cube. This is $$\frac{6 \times 6 \times 6}{2 \times 2 \times 2} = \frac{216}{8} = 27$$. Equivalently, 3 small cubes fit along each edge, giving $$3^3 = 27$$ cubes.
