Question 22

Two trains one from station P to Q, the other from station Q to P start simultaneously with speeds 80 km/h and 95 km/h. If they meet after 12 hours, what is the difference between the distances covered by them?

Solution

let the distance between the train = D km

Relative speed by the two train = (95 - 80)km\hr = 15 km\hr

time taken to meet = $$\frac{D}{15}$$

12 hr = $$\frac{D}{15}$$

D = 180 km
