Statement 1 - A function is possible from a set having 100 elements to a set having 2 elements.<br>Statement 2 - $$A$$, $$B$$ are two sets having 3 and 5 elements respectively. Number of functions from $$A$$ to $$B$$ such that the range of $$f$$ is equal to $$B$$ is 0.
Any assignment of each of the 100 elements to one of the 2 elements is a function, and there are $$2^{100}$$ of them, so Statement 1 is true. A function from a 3-element set has at most 3 values in its range, so it can never cover all 5 elements of $$B$$; the number of onto functions is 0 and Statement 2 is true. Hence options a and c are both correct.
