Question 15

Delhi metro covers a distance in 40 minutes, if it runs at a speed of 48 kmph on an average.Find the speed at which the train must run to reduce the time of journey to 32 minutes:

Solution

Distance travelled by metro in 40 min=$$48\times\frac{40}{60}$$km

Now Required Speed=$$\frac{distance}{time}$$

$$=\frac{48\times\frac{40}{60}}{\frac{32}{60}}$$

$$\frac{48\times{40}}{32}$$=60km/hr
