The percentage profits of four leading airliners A, B, C and D for six years 18 shown in the line graph below.

Question 139

In 2015 Airliner C invested: an amount of ₹630 crore, $$\frac{2}{3}$$ of this amount was invested by B. A invested $$\frac{3}{4}$$ of the amount invested by B and D invested $$1\frac{3}{5}$$ of A in the same year. The revenue generated by A and D is .......... than that by B and C.

Solution

C invested = ₹630 crore.

B Invested $$\frac{2}{3}$$ of C = 2/3*630 = ₹420 crore.

A invested $$\frac{3}{4}$$ of the amount invested by B = 3/4*420 = ₹315 crore.

D invested $$1\frac{3}{5}$$ of A = 8/5*315 = ₹504 crore.

Revenue = Investment + Profit

Investment of A = 315 crore, Investment of D = 504 crore

Profit of both A and D = 29% of Investment.

Hence, the total revenue of A and D = (315+504)*1.29 = ₹1056.51 crore

Similarly, Revenue of B and C = Investment of B and C + Profit of B and C.

Revenue of B = 420*(1.24) = ₹ 520.8 crore

Revenue of C = 630*(1.29) = ₹ 812.7 crore

Total revenue of B and C = 520.8+812.7 = ₹1333.5 Crore

Difference of Revenue of B and C with A and D = 1333.5-1056.51 = ₹276.99 crore

The revenue generated by A and D is less by ₹276.99 crore than that by B and C.
