In each of these questions, two equations (I) and (II) are given. You have to solve both the equations and Give answer :

Question 1

I. $$3x^2 - 22x + 7 = 0$$
II. $$y^2 - 15y + 56 = 0$$

Solution

I : $$3x^{2} - 22x + 7 = 0$$

=> $$3x^{2} - x - 21x + 7 = 0$$

=> $$x (3x - 1) -7 (3x - 1) = 0$$

=> $$(x - 7) (3x - 1) = 0$$

=> $$x = 7, \frac{1}{3}$$

II : $$y^{2} - 15y + 56 = 0$$

=> $$y^{2} - 8y - 7y + 56 = 0$$

=> $$y (y - 8) -7 (y - 8) = 0$$

=> $$(y - 7) (y - 8) = 0$$

=> $$y = 7, 8$$

Clearly, 7 & 8 $$\geq$$ 7 & 1/3
