Is IPMAT tougher than JEE?
IPMAT does not provide harder questions as compared to JEE, yet it measures a different set of skills which are balanced. It involves good English language and mathematics. JEE Main is considered to be one of the most difficult entrance examinations in India. It requires intensive, professional expertise in Physics, Chemistry and higher level Mathematics.
IPMAT is averagely difficult. It needs a more extensive aptitude viewpoint. It is a balanced approach that is quantitative, verbal and reasoning. The quantitative part includes math up to the Class XII level. This is normally dealt with by science students. The major hurdle? The Verbal Ability (VA) part. It requires that one have a solid command of grammar, understanding, and vocabulary.
Key Difficulty Differences:
- Core Skill Focus: JEE demands depth in science. IPMAT demands strong quantitative skills and superior English language command.
- The VA Hurdle: Verbal Ability often decides the selection, more so than math scores.
- Time Management: IPMAT requires quick time management to balance the Math and English sections efficiently.
- Competition: The acceptance rate is extremely low, hovering between 0.5% and 1.2% of total applicants. Extreme competition.

This makes sure that the candidates possess the background skills for the intensive management course.
The structure differs by IIM. IPMAT Rohtak has Logical Reasoning as a part of the questionnaire, and it has 40 questions in the three sections. The exam of IIM Indore is different. It separates the Quantitative Ability into Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and Short Answer (SA) items.
Core Syllabus Topics:

- Verbal Ability (VA): Measures the skill in Reading Comprehension, Grammar (Subject-Verb Arrangement), Vocabulary (Synonyms, Idioms), and Parajumbles.
