Generally, the left-most digit and right-most digit are the easiest to find in Cryptarithmetic questions. So, the first step should be to try to find them.
The maximum sum of two single digit numbers is 18.
If there are only two digits in an addition like E + G = E, then G is either 0 or 9 because the maximum carry over in the addition of two digits is 1.
If two numbers each of length 'n' are being added and the resultant number is of length n+1, then the left-most digit in the sum is 1.
