I can tell you what have worked for me my scores in VA were also pretty bad but after following this strategy my marks have increased significantly. First of all dont skip giving mocks keep on doing them. For VARC try to understand what problem are you facing whether you are not able to understand the RC or not able to understand question or getting confused between two options. Once you get that try to overcome that before the next mock. and while attempting the mock go slow and have a low target at first i.e getting atleast 8 questions correct net. Focus on accuracy and while reading the RC do active reading and write pointers about each para, this will take time at first but gradually you'll be able to get the hang of it. Secondly before attempting VARC section go through the paper once and try to identify the RCs which you will be comfortable with . After the mock do a thorough analysis of the section if you ask me personally when i started using this strategy i took around 2.5-3 hours just to analyse VARC section. while analysing dont just focus on the question you did wrong, pay attention to the questions you got right aswell check the thinking around the options see if your reason of eliminating the option and that of anwers is same or not. All this takes time but has helped me a lot. I am a retaker and i assure you that mocks are just like net practice the more you focus upon your weakness the better you'll get in the match. Dont be afraid of low scores the only score that matters is of the D Day.
