Got shortlisted for IIFT 2019. 31 yrs old. more than 5 yrs of work ex. General Male Non Engineer. 97.78 percentile. Is age going to be a negative factor in interview?

You should be able to justify why you want to do an MBA. It will not be a disadvantage in my opinion. Look at it this way, you have the advantage of knowing one question which will be asked. So prepare for it well. All the best.

Not sure, but definitely going to ask you your age related questions and why you're doing MBA now. The thing is, at the end of the day all B schools are placement agencies and they don't look for ideal candidates for MBA (because there is no such thing), but candidates who can easily be placed at the end of 2 years. That is why they care so much about your brand and which college you come from. You become an easy sell to companies that come to recruit. So, have clarity about your career goals. And don't say you want to pursue marketing unless you already are in the field. That's the best you can do.
