Stage – 2: Shortlist

    • Candidates who have qualified for Stage 1 are only called for the next round, the Shortlisting Round.
    • Here, the Aggregate Index Score is computed, and a call will be given for the next round.
  • The aggregate score is calculated by considering different factors in different proportions.
Component Weight
CAT 2023 Index Score 45%
Gender/Academic Diversity 10% / 5 %
Work Experience Score 5 %
10th Percentage Score 25%
12th Percentage Score 15%
  • Gender or Academic Diversity

    • Note: Only one of the two of the following is considered. Both factors are not taken into consideration.

    a) A female or transgender candidate is awarded ten under the gender diversity score.

    b) a candidate other than Engineering will also be awarded a gender diversity of five.

    Work Experience Score

    • Only experience after graduation is considered; a minimum of 6 months is also necessary. Any experience before graduation is not counted. Also, internship project experiences are not measured under experience.

Stage 3 Eligibility : Final Shortlist

  • Candidates who get final short-lists will be called for the Personal Interview. The candidate’s academic efforts, awareness of social issues, attitude, and personality are evaluated here.
  • The quality of work experience and his ability to articulate his idea is also judged.
  • Personal Interview is conducted first.
  • In the next round, the Written Ability Test. Here, a topic is informed just before the test, and the candidates must write an essay.
  • All this process will take about half of the day.
  • Then, a merit list is prepared based on the CAT Score, Personal Interview, WA-Test, and Resume.

IIM-Kozhikode admission criteria have been almost the same since last year. The only change was in academic and gender diversity, which accounted for up to 10 per cent previously, and in the current year, only one is considered.
