Solution

Let the common multiple be x.
There are x girls and 3x boys.
Now, let girls score be N.
$$\frac{N*x+(A+1)*3x}{4x}$$ = A
N = 4A - 3(A+1)
= A - 3
Hence, the average score of girls is A-3
