Question 59

The length of two parallel sides of a trapezium are 30 cm and 40 cm. If the area of the trapezium is 350 cm2, then what is the value (in cm) of its height?

Sum of two parallel sides of a trapezium = $$30+40=70$$ cm

Let height = $$h$$ cm

=> Area of trapezium = $$\frac{1}{2}\times h\times$$ (sum of parallel sides)

=> $$\frac{1}{2}\times(h)\times(70)=350$$

=> $$\frac{h}{2}=\frac{350}{70}=5$$

=> $$h=5\times2=10$$ cm

=> Ans - (B)
