P, Q and R undertook a work for Rs 48000. Together P and Q complete 5/12th part of the work. What is the share (in Rs) of R?

Solution

Let total work be 1 unit and P and Q complete 5/12th part of the work.

=> Work done by R = $$1-\frac{5}{12}=\frac{7}{12}$$

=> Ratio of work done by (P+Q) and R = 5:7

=> R's share = $$\frac{7}{(5+7)}\times48,000$$

= $$7\times4,000=Rs.$$ $$28,000$$

=> Ans - (B)
