Solution

The sum of the place values of the letters within the word will be subtracted by 3.

ROAM ==> 18+15+1+13 ==> (47-3) = 44

HIMP ==> 8+9+13+16 ==> (46-3) = 43

BONE ==> 2+15+14+5 ==> (36-3) = 33
