Question 114

Which of these represents the correct order of intelligence(in the decreasing sequence)?

Solution

Most Intelligent - 1, Least Intelligent - 7

Given D is an Architect, B is not married, and another person, a Psychologist, is the most intelligent in the group.

Psychologist - 1

The doctor is married to C. C is the second most intelligent of the group followed by her husband.

C - 2

Doctor - 3

Also given the engineer is married to the teacher, who is the least intelligent of the group.

Teacher - 7

There are as many more intelligent persons than the engineer as there are less intelligent.

Engineer - 4

The student is more intelligent than the architect, who is more intelligent than only one person, F.

Student - 5

Architect - 6

So, F is a teacher with the least intelligence.

Hence, C has to be the remaining one i.e. businessman

Neither A nor G is a female.

The psychologist is a female.

Till now we have

We know the married couples are Businessman - Doctor and Engineer - Teacher,

So, D, who is an architect has to be unmarried.

image

Now as B is not the Psychologist, and Psychologist is a Female, so the only person who can be the Psychologist is E.

We know she is not married.

Hence, the remaining A and G have to be married.

As both are males, F the teacher has to be female.

So, the only unmarried profession remaining is Student, which has to be B,

Also, the student has an intelligence of 5 and will be a male as all females are already counted for.

The final table we have is

Now given that the Architect i.e. D is in the leftmost corner, followed by the least intelligent i.e. F followed by the most intelligent i.e. E, the Psychologist.

We're also told that on the bench followed by D, there are three females sitting in succession, so the only remaining female i.e. C should be sitting next to E.

Also, The student i.e. B is in the right most corner

A can be Engineer or Doctor and vice versa for G.

They both will sit together in some way.

All three are correct sequence of decreasing intelligence.
