"If you want something you never had, you ought to do something you never did".
Hi Sharad. It would have been good for everyone if the graph of proficiency had a straight line, where our abilities kept on increasing as we practised more and more. But it is a curve, which tends to dip in the middle. So, the drop in scores that you are seeing is normal and faced by almost all of the aspirants. Do not let it break you, because the silver lining could not be very far.
Reasons behind this:
1. You have adopted a different strategy without realizing it. See what changes have occurred along with the drop in the scores. Keep a timer and a log where you note all the errors. Have you started reading the passage quicker, dropping the comprehension? Or do you misread or misinterpret the questions? Analyse each detail rigorously, and make sure that the mistakes you make in this RC are not repeated in the next.
2. Pressure: One generally faces this under pressure. You could be under time pressure during mocks/sectionals. Or you could be anxious about the exam day. Let go of all those anxieties. You worrying unnecessarily about the exam can change nothing for the better, the pressure might in fact act against you.
Try reading something other than for preparation purposes: A novel, or some story. These will clear your mind and increase comprehension at the same time. Do not fret. Just work hard and do the best you can. That is all that matters.
