In sociology, a minority group refers to a category of people who experience relative disadvantage as compared to members of a dominant social group. According to The Indian, Constitution minorities are recognized on the basis of Percentage of the population of the Group to the total population. Minority communities in India include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains.
